The number of people experiencing homelessness (PEH) in the United States is rising. PEH experience early morbidity in mortality compared to the general population due to higher rates of disease and less access to health services compounded by chronic stress and the nature of being unhoused. To help mitigate some of these health impacts, a federally qualified health center (FQHC) in Portland, Oregon, opened a clinic within a local shelter that serves 120 adults experiencing homelessness.
