Abstract

Behavioral health professionals assessed their awareness, knowledge, and skills after attending a presentation that followed an "Improving Cultural Competency for Behavioral Health Professionals" (ICC for BHP) training developed by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. The project aimed to increase awareness, knowledge, and skills in providing culturally sensitive care by 30%. This study was conducted in a rural and urban behavioral health clinic, from October 2022 to January 2023. Professionals included psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners, medical assistants, licensed vocational nurses, social workers, marriage family therapists, QMHPs, and QMHAs.
