Fecal incontinence postpartum is a common and costly condition that significantly affects quality of life, with reported prevalence ranging widely among new mothers. Multiple risk factors have been proposed, including demographic, lifestyle, obstetric, and medical conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). However, prior research examining the relationship between IBS and postpartum fecal incontinence has been limited. This study aims to better characterize the prevalence and risk factors for fecal incontinence among postpartum women with a history of IBS, using a large population-based cohort.
