Abstract

There is no standard definition of what is all-inclusive in an electronic health record, but for the most part, it is a system that stores longitudinal data representing a patient's problems, medications, allergies, medical histories, progress notes, and visit information. In addition to EHR's, a Practice Management Information System can also be used to electronically store demographic, scheduling, billing, and insurance information. Together these systems form a foundation that can allow a provider the ability to go paperless. This project aims to evaluate the current usage of electronic health records in the state of Oregon and aggregate this data among various populations of providers, geographical representations, and social environments.
