In 1987, Health Level Seven (HL7), Inc. was founded as a nonprofit ANSI-accredited standards developing organization with the mission of developing a comprehensive framework and standards for the exchange of electronic health information. The name references the 7th level of the International Standards Organizations Open Systems Interconnection model, also known as the application level. The goal of my project is to create a core HL 7 parser that will emphasize simplicity and flexibility.
