Abstract

This master's thesis describes the development of a web application enabling health researchers to design and implement health surveys and polls. It concentrates on delivering a prototype capable of supporting several key elements of the survey process. This application is implemented using Java and XML, including survey design, collecting respondent data and presenting survey results. The main goal was to achieve a flexible and platform independent survey development environment with JSP-supported web services. These kinds of systems are possible to implement as an effective development tool, Java provides versatile building tools for easy-to-use applications.
