Abstract
Food insecurity, affecting 14.5% of U.S. households, poses significant risks to health and child development. Children with special health care needs (SHCN)—present in one in five households—often face additional financial burdens, potentially increasing their vulnerability to food insecurity. This study examines the relationship between SHCN status and household food security among children attending the Multi-Modular Preschool Screening in Tillamook County, Oregon, in 2012.
