Abstract
Although the prevalence of pathological gambling is comparable to that of other psychiatric disorders less is known about people with gambling disorder compared to individuals with other psychiatric conditions the expansion of liquid based gambling from traditional casino to video lottery terminals and online gambling you have increased the prevalence of pathological gambling however little is known about gain preference among problem gamblers the primary objective of this study was to examine associations between game preference and other characteristics of treatment seeking problem gamblers. The deidentified data set was obtained from Oregon problem gambling services first multinomial regressions were performed to examine game preferences association with any of the factors covariance of interest gender age age one problem gambling was diagnosed age of first gambling race American Psychiatric Association diagnostic and statistical manual score each of the DSM criteria education income debt marital status employment status venue of gambling a year of admission to problem gambling treatment program. Then another multinomial regression was performed with all those selected factors slash covariates entered into the preliminary model as the independent variables and game preferences as the dependent variable finally another multinomial regression was performed with all those selected factors covariates entered into the final model as the independent variables.
