Abstract
Sudden cardiac death secondary to dysrhythmia is a potentially preventable cause of death with proper utilization of an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD). Published guidelines offer eligibility criteria for device implantation yet compliance varies widely across the nation. Adherence to the guidelines has the potential to affect billing and reimbursement as well as patient outcomes. The hypothesis of this project is that PSVMC will fall in the upper quartile of the national average.
