Abstract

In the past decade, Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM) has become mainstream. EBM can be defined as “the conscientious, explicit, and judicious use of current best evidence in making decisions about the care of individual patients.” On its face, it only makes sense for the information gleaned from medical research to be used in medical practice. The sheer amount of medical research and information arising from it makes it virtually impossible for a clinician to keep up with the literature, acquiring information in a just-in-case manner. The purpose of this project is to compare several bedside information tools using user-centered task-oriented measures to assist those making or supporting purchasing decisions.
