Description

Small, orange, metal tin labled "Du Bois Pecific Pills." Not much is known about this medicine or the company that created it. Records from the U.S. Department of Chemistry show the company was sued for libel and misbranding under the 1906 Food and Drugs Act. Tests confirmed that the pills, which claimed to prevent menstrual pain and regulate periods, essentially consisted of aloes and ferrous sulphate coated with calcium carbonate and sugar.
