Abstract
The purpose of this study was to provide descriptive statistics for pediatric genetic epilepsy that would be specific to genetic epilepsy compared to the general population as well as the larger group of pediatric epilepsy. We hypothesized that the severity of pediatric genetic epilepsy was increased compared to overall epilepsy and to the general pediatric population. We analyzed multiple variables to serve as a proxy for severity including age of onset, incidence of status epilepticus within the past year, the rate of drug resistant epilepsy, as well as the prevalence of comorbidities including Autism and ADD/ADHD.
