The history of the National Health Council stretches back over a period of 12 or 15 years, during which the need for cooperation and coordination among national health agencies was seen more and more clearly throughout the United States. The Council exists to promote mutual understanding and helpfulness among American health agencies and to assist them in their work by conducting a central service bureau.
