Abstract

This dissertation focuses on developing advanced handheld OCT and OCTA systems tailored for pediatric use, overcoming the limitations of traditional and commercially available devices. The work introduces prototypes with increased imaging speed and expanded field of view, enabling comprehensive visualization of the peripheral retina. These innovations significantly improve image quality and diagnostic capabilities, particularly for pediatric retinal diseases, including retinopathy of prematurity and retinoblastoma. The research demonstrates the potential of these systems to enhance pediatric ophthalmic care.
