Digital photograph of a Japanese field otoscope in a leather case. The green velvet- and blue silk-lined case has been opened to show the instrument inside. Two handwritten notes of provenance have been set on the gray counter in front of the open case.

A Japanese field otoscope in a leather case which measures 10.8 x 9 x 7 cm. The bottom compartment of the case is lined in forest green plush velvet, while the inner lid is lined in royal blue silk. The instrument set contains a metal otoscope and three specula. It was donated by George Lyman, M.D., in May 1946. He retrieved it from the Yokoshita Japanese Base, May 13, 1946.
