In this interview, Roy A. Payne, M.D. talks about his internal medicine and geriatrics career. He played a pivotal role in founding Dwyer Memorial Hospital (now Providence Milwaukie Hospital), where he served as the medical staff president and was a board of trustees member. Dr. Payne also contributed significantly as a medical director for numerous long-term care facilities in the region. His commitment extended to the Oregon Medical Association, where he held various leadership positions, including president. Payne was also a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine Emeritus at OHSU.
