Abstract

An important service that the Oregon Clinical and Translational Research Institute (OCTRI) provides to its investigators is database application development. For the typical investigator-initiated clinical research study, OCTRI uses standardized database structures and application code developed in over a decade of supporting such projects. The database structures are based on the Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium Specification for the Operational Data Model (CDISC ODM) data model and include structures that hold study metadata. The scope of the project includes an application structure and a Model View Controller (MVC) framework that will be used by other developers who will create a graphical user interface for their applications.
