A Japanese water purifier and filter, found in the Pacific Theater in World War II by John B. White, M.D., and donated by him in January 1945. The portable unit consists of: 1) a cylindrical water filter with a metal core, covered in Plaster of Paris, with threaded rod protruding from one end, 2) a wire and canvas hose, 150 cm in length, with metal nozzle on one end and attached at the opposite end to the purifier, and 3) the purifier, with a metal case 42 cm in length, a metal stand, a carrying handle, and a pump apparatus. The unit is in fair condition, with rusting and scratches. The hose has become brittle.
