Abstract

This project examines joy amongst multidisciplinary teammates in an outpatient wound care setting, applying the Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s (IHI) Joy in Work Framework to strengthen workplace connection and engagement. Through qualitative research, surveys and interviews identified systemic barriers, inefficiencies, documentation burdens, and fragmented communication—that limit sustained team cohesion. Findings highlight the importance of structured interventions such as daily huddles, optimized scheduling, and engagement-driven initiatives to foster resilience and mitigate burnout risks. By addressing these challenges, the study aims to enhance clinician well-being, improve workforce sustainability, and support long-term healthcare system efficiency. Future phases will evaluate intervention impact and explore scalable solutions for sustaining joy in work.
