Abstract

Cachexia is a devastating metabolic syndrome affecting up to 80% of patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. Cardiac wasting and injury are common manifestations, yet the mechanisms driving these changes remain poorly defined. This dissertation investigates how pancreatic cancer cachexia reprograms the heart, with particular emphasis on alterations in cardiac adrenergic signaling and the cardiac immune microenvironment.
