Abstract

We piloted an opt-in self-coaching program for first and second year medical students to see if it could strengthen personal and professional development skills over 6 months amount of time. Changes in resilience, self-efficacy, and self-directed learning were measured using validated tools, pre/post via Qualtrics. In our small sample, the only statistically significant improvement was in learning strategies—how students approach and structure their studying. We saw promising trends toward better learning activities and self-evaluation skills.
