This dissertation aims to address how ischemic injury induces cerebrovascular dysfunction and triggers a pathological cycle to accelerate the onset and progression of Alzheimer's disease pathology and cognitive decline. I investigated connections between the cognitive, vascular, and histopathological changes that occur after stroke and how they relate to AD.
