Abstract
This project is a retrospective single-institution study evaluating perioperative outcomes in transgender and gender-diverse patients undergoing orthopaedic sports surgery. It found low complication rates and no postoperative complications within 90 days, suggesting that surgical outcomes in this population are generally safe and comparable to expected norms, though limited by small sample size and lack of a cisgender comparison group. The study highlights a significant gap in orthopaedic literature and emphasizes the need for larger, multicenter studies to better understand outcomes and inform equitable, evidence-based care.
