Photograph of a Starr-Edwards Heart Valve, developed at University of Oregon Medical School by Dr. Albert Starr and Lowell Edwards. The valve was first implanted in a human in 1960. Digital scan produced for the exhibit "Frankenstein: Penetrating the Secrets of Nature" in Fall 2004.
