Abstract

This dissertation describes the implementation of a technique for using cellular miRNAs as tools for the discovery of virus-host interactions. With this methodology, I discovered a new function for the UPR during DENV2, namely inhibition of innate immune signaling, as well as identifying a miRNA that impedes flavivirus infection in spite of failure to enhance cellular immunity.
