Abstract

This study evaluated whether group education improves knowledge dietary habits and metabolic control in children with phenylketonuria PKU and assessed the validity of a food frequency questionnaire FFQ for estimating protein intake Primary outcomes included PKU knowledge and adherence to dietary recommendations secondary outcomes included fruit and vegetable consumption and metabolic control FFQ performance was compared to 24-hour recalls Findings will inform strategies to enhance dietary management and monitoring in pediatric PKU care
