Abstract

Personal Health Records (PHRs) are gaining attention within the greater medical community. PHR's give consumers a platform to compile health information from multiple sources and provide a vehicle for this information to be stored in one place. This paper provides an overview of PHR's, examines consumer attitudes toward and benefits of PHR's, and recommends additional studies to be conducted demonstrating that PHR's can change behavior and alter health outcomes.
