Abstract
Variability in practice regarding early postoperative computed tomography (EPOCT) exists between hospitals providing neurosurgical services. Utilization of a computed tomography (CT) scan in managing the postoperative neurosurgical patient has been questioned. It is routine practice for elective craniotomy for tumor resection patients at Oregon Health and Science University Hospital (OHSU) to undergo a CT scan within 60 minutes of arrival to the recovery room.
