Abstract
The major diseases Primary Care providers manage - diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, etc. - are directly associated with diet quality and quantity. With health systems and Coordinated Care Organizations (CCO) seeking novel, non-clinical interventions to address upstream influencers of health, a single Veggie Rx intervention was developed and implemented in 5 distinct community organizations across Oregon to aid those most disproportionately affected by these diseases: people with food insecurity. The objective of this project is to measure the impact of Veggie Rx on food insecurity, physical health, mental health, and healthcare overutilization.
