The widespread adoption of electronic health records in hospital and intensive care unit settings has quickly led to the expanded use of health information technology. Although the main benefit of electronic health records has been the increased access to data, this information can be spread throughout several areas of the record, leading to inefficient use and difficulty with time management as well as the prioritization of key clinical interventions.
