Intimate Partner Violence in the United States is a common problem with 1 in 4 to 1 in 3 cis-women and 1 in 10 cis-men experiencing some form of IPV in their lifetime. The prevalence for physical violence, stalking and rape is greater for Black, Native American, Alaskan Native, and transgender/gender non-conforming populations. Furthermore, IPV is often associated with health complications such as depression, chronic disease, low birth weight babies, anemia, fractures, substance use, suicide, unintended pregnancies, chronic pain and many more long term consequences.
