Abstract
Since 2009, the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) has engaged in discussions, literature reviews, surveys, and studies focused on clinical judgment and clinical decision-making among entry-level nurses. Studies found that 50-65% of entry-level nurses were involved in practice errors related to poor clinical decision-making. These findings highlight the critical importance of strong clinical judgment and clinical decision-making skills to safe entry-level nursing practice.
