Abstract

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) allows for the noninvasive exploration of animal and human anatomy. The focus of this project was to evaluate automatic segmentation routines on magnetic resonance images acquired at 7 Tesla. The first part of this capstone introduces the basic concepts of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and ultra-high magnetic fields. The second part focuses on specific automated segmentation methods and their application to ultra-high field MRI data.
