Abstract

Within the last decade there has developed in this country a vast and growing interest in the young child, particularly of the pre-school age, and in the much more neglected subject of training for parenthood. Approach has been made from a number of different points of view by a variety of research groups, behavior clinics, nursery schools, and groups of parents themselves. There has been increasing recognition of the fact that merely being a father or a mother is not in itself sufficient to prepare the individual for the complex and difficult task of rearing children.
