Abstract
Interoperability is one of the challenges in health informatics and there are many tools on the market to help informaticians break down silos of information and integrate them for the benefit of patient care. This paper aims to evaluate tools for healthcare interoperability both open-source (Mirth Connect) and commercial (JAVA CAPS Oracle Corporation CA) to point out the benefits and risks including recommendations on how to get started if one would like to adopt such tools.
