Abstract

According to the National Diabetes Statistics Report of 2020, the CDC states one in ten adults aged 18 years or older have diabetes in the United States. Living with diabetes predisposes those to many health risks, one of which is foot ulcers. Over half of the non-traumatic amputations are performed on people with diabetes. There is an increasing need for formal education to empower those on how to conduct foot checks at home. This work is the summary of a community outreach project carried out to accomplish this goal.
