Abstract

Students often begin a term with no opportunity to orient themselves to a course in a meaningful way. Each week in the quarter system accounts for approximately 10% of the course's content. This pacing combined with the competing priorities can leave students feeling like they were behind before they even started. The "early access pass" addresses the question of whether students find having access to the course beneficial to their learning and how they behave during this time.
